Transmission Sprocket Installation
1. Install the transmission sprocket (with belt) on the main drive gear. 2. Install the sprocket nut. The next procedure is based on whether a fresh or used nut has been installed. Note: The Transmission Sprocket nut has remaining handed threads. Transform the nut counterclockwise to set up on the main drive equipment. Sprocket Nut: apply red thread lock to the threads of the sprocket nut. As well smear a small quantity of crimson thread lock or clean engine essential oil on the inside face of the sprocket nut and the exterior encounter of the sprocket. Limit the application to where in fact the surfaces of the two parts contact each other. Install the sprocket nut until finger tight. 3. Obtain Final Drive Sprocket Locking Software (BAKER P/N: Tool-C) to lock transmitting sprocket. Proceed as follows: A. Insert deal with of software below pivot shaft inboard of bottom frame tube and put on sprocket. B. Snug thumbscrew to lock placement of software on sprocket. 4. Obtain Mainshaft Locknut Wrench/Pilot (BAKER P/N: Tool-D). Proceed as follows: A. Install pilot on threaded end of mainshaft. B. Slide sleeve of locknut wrench over pilot and onto sprocket nut. C. Tighten sprocket nut to 60 ft-lbs. (81 Nm). As the nut is usually tightened the handle of the sprocket locking tool rises to get hold of the pivot shaft, thereby preventing sprocket/mainshaft rotation. 5. Scribe a straight series on the tranny sprocket nut ongoing the series over onto the tranny sprocket. Tighten the transmitting sprocket nut an additional 35 to 40 degrees. 6. Install lockplate over nut so that the two diagonally opposing holes align with two tapped holes in sprocket. For the best in shape, lockplate can be rotated to several positions and may be put with either part facing sprocket. 7. If holes in lockplate do not align with those in sprocket, tighten sprocket nut as important (up to 45 degrees maximum) until sprocket and lockplate holes happen to be in alignment.
